Methods

Our unique experimental techniques.

Reflective Echelon Mirrors

We are using specially designed reflective echelon mirrors for dividing a single laser pulse into many time-delayed beamlets to visualize ultrafast phenomena in real time.

Terahertz Oscilloscopes

By using chirped pulses to map the temporal information to the wavelength, we succeeded in observing the ultrafast dynamics within a single shot.

Terahertz Scanning Tunneling Microscopes

The tunneling current between the metal tip and the sample is induced by applying terahertz pulses.

Broadband Terahertz and Coherent Phonon Spectroscopy

We use a shaker that can scan the delay time rapidly and a ultra-short sub-10-fs laser pulses to investigate ultrafast and broadband dynamics in materials.
