We held a research meeting at Tokyo Metropolitan University as part of the CREST project. This project aims to visualize and control fluctuations in materials to enable the creation of novel materials and devices. During the meeting, we discussed potential applications to semiconductor lasers as well as topics related to thermoelectric fluctuations. Prof. Takahiro Yamamoto from Tokyo University of Science also gave a fundamental lecture on the physics of fluctuations, which highlighted the depth and richness of this field.
